Reduce Information and Cyber Security Risks by changing passwords for personnel in all campuses

To maintain the information and cyber security of Kasetsart University, the university has enforced cyber security policy. Due to the increasing risks of external threats in cybersecurity assessment, all users must be required to change their new password to ensure that every account is with actual use and can be held accountable for in order to reduce the security risks from hacking user accounts from malicious people. All personnel are requested to change the password from now until November 8, 2021 at 11.00 p.m. After that period, you will not be able to access information services of Kasetsart University with your previous password. If the user does not take any action by November 20, 2021 at 11.00 p.m., the system will cancel the user account. Effects after changing the password, the user has to sign in the new information system entirely. The time frame for doing so is as follows.

  • From now until Novermber 8, 2021 at 11.00 p.m.: Change your password manually. Visit user changes password at website https://accounts.ku.ac.th.  You can study the password change manual from https://bit.ly/3ih3Qny
  • November 8, 2021 at 11.00 p.m.: User account without changed password will not be able to use various university information services such as KUWIN, KU-Office365, KU-Google, etc.
  • Between November 9, 2021-November 20, 2021: User accounts that have not changed their passwords and have been blocked from using the information system will be allowed to operate the information system by themselves.

Users are enable to activate information by themselves through 3 channels as follows :

  1. For user accounts that have previously set up Recovery email, can enable the account manually through the system at https://accounts.ku.ac.th. You can select the forgotten password menu and click the “Email Verification” menu. You can study the manual from https://bit.ly/2Y7mt6B
  2. For user accounts that have not previously set Recovery email, can enable the account manually through the system at https://accounts.ku.ac.th. Select the Forgotten Password menu and click the “Change or rest your password” menu. You can study the manual from https://bit.ly/3opiuwK
  3. Contact Helpdesk email: helpdesk@ku.ac.th or all campus offices to request new identity verification.

Please be informed that the system will cancel all User account without changing password or reactivating the information system. Users can contact Helpdesk email: helpdesk@ku.ac.th or all campus offices to request new identity verification within 90 days from November 20, 2021 otherwise the account will be permanently deactivated. The system will automatically proceed to destroy the data by deleting it completely and can no longer be recovered.

Note

  • For user accounts that have changed their password before October 1, 2021 must still be kindly requested to change all new passwords.
